Dimitar Berbatov predicts what the score will be between Newcastle and Liverpool

Dimitar Berbatov was wrong about Newcastle United last week, and hopefully that is not the case again on Sunday.

He predicted that the Magpies would get a draw at Man City last time out, but sadly he was incorrect. Eddie Howe’s side were beaten 1-0 by the champions, who were totally dominant.

It was a really good performance by Man City rather than a bad one by Newcastle, but Howe will still be eager for a response from his side.

This week they are at home to Liverpool, which is set to be another enthralling encounter. Newcastle’s tough start to the season continues, but the Toon Army will be confident heading into the game at St James’ Park.

Berbatov is confident too, and thinks that Newcastle are going to get their second win of the campaign at Liverpool’s expense.

Berbatov backs Newcastle to beat Liverpool

The former Manchester United striker has predicted this weekend’s Premier League results, and believes that Newcastle will beat Liverpool 3-2.

“This is going to be a great game and I’m going for Newcastle,” he said.

“People don’t pay too much attention to Newcastle, they have a great squad and played well against City.

“Liverpool are not the way they used to be with players leaving, especially in midfield, so I think Newcastle can exploit these weaknesses.”

Berbatov predicts a thriller

Berbatov, the man who had a Newcastle shirt growing up and idolised Alan Shearer before playing for Liverpool’s biggest rivals Man United, thinks that the Magpies are going to win on Sunday.

There might be a bit of bias from the Bulgarian, but he clearly has a lot of faith in Eddie Howe’s side.

He thinks that Newcastle are going to come out on top of a five goal classic, which would be fitting for such an iconic Premier League fixture.

A lot of pundits are backing the Magpies to win, which is incredibly surprising and speaks volumes about how highly rated we now are. Berbatov is the latest to back Newcastle, and believes that they have the tools to exploit Liverpool in the middle of the park.

Hopefully he is right, especially following the news that Joelinton is fit to face the Reds.
