Dan Burn asked if he will dance again if Newcastle reach the League Cup final

Dan Burn had everyone talking about him on Tuesday night, but for a dance rather than his first Newcastle United goal.

The defender scored the Magpies’ opener in the 2-0 win over Leicester City, helping his boyhood club reach the semi finals of the Carabao Cup.

It was an incredible night for Burn. He scored his first Toon goal in front of the Gallowgate, and was serenaded by the St James’ Park crowd with his new chant.

The celebrations continued long into the night, as fans reminded everyone that Dan Burn is indeed from Blyth.

He was also the toast of the dressing room, as Eddie Howe singled out the 30-year-old for praise during his post-match team talk, which was broadcast on Sky Sports.

Burn then, seemingly out of nowhere, bust a move and produced a dance from the video game Fortnite. It was absolutely hilarious, and something that Burn instantly regretted.

However, he has not ruled out doing it again in the very near future.

Burn has been speaking to TalkSPORT, and discussed the Magpies’ bid to win the Carabao Cup. He was asked if he will dance again if Newcastle beat Southampton and reach the final at Wembley.

“Definitely,” he said.

“If we get to Wembley and win it I’ll be doing all sorts of dances.”

Hopefully we see the dance again

With Burn’s latest declaration, let’s hope that we really do see him dance again. If he does, it means we have won the League Cup and ended our lengthy trophy drought.

The last time Newcastle lifted major silverware was 1969. The last time we won a domestic trophy was 1955. Those facts shocked some of the newer players at St James’ Park, as Howe’s team looks to etch their names into the history books.

There is extra incentive for Burn, who is a local lad. He is living his dream right now, and it got even better on Tuesday night when he scored his first ever goal for the club. That is something he will have pictured doing since being a child, and it finally became a reality.

It was a huge goal too, and it will be remembered forever if Newcastle really can go all the way to the final. First they need to get past Southampton, who they face in the semis.
