Newcastle striker Chris Wood has had no respite, he has already been in international action for New Zealand.
It was a very productive night for Wood as he became his country’s all-time record goalscorer in a win over Fiji.
He scored his 29th and 30th New Zealand goals in the Kiwis’ 4-0 World Cup qualifying win to kickstart the international break.

Those goals have come from 62 appearances, which is a decent return rate for the target man who is his country’s focal point.
He equalled Vaughan Coveny’s record with a close-range header on the stroke of half-time and finished off a rapid counter-attack 30 minutes later to go clear.
After the game, he took to Instagram to celebrate the win and the achievement, which he should be very proud of indeed.
With two wins from two games in their OFC (Oceania Football Confederation) Qualification group, New Zealand will be hoping Wood can keep on grabbing the goals to send them to World Cup 2022.
If they maintain their position atop of their qualification group, they will face off against the fourth-placed team in the CONCACAF qualifying section in an inter-confederation play-off.
As it stands, that would be Panama, who sit one point above Costa Rica. England have played both sides at recent World Cups; Panama in 2018, Costa Rica in 2014.
Wood will be looking his help his side beat New Caledonia, who sit bottom of the qualification group, and improving on his impressive goalscoring return on Thursday.
