While Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes has touched down in Brazil, the midfielder’s beloved dogs have been pictured on a flight to Tyneside.

The 24-year-old was named in the Selecao’s squad for the remaining South American World Cup qualifiers.

Tite’s side, who face Chile and Bolivia later this month, have already qualified for this winter’s World Cup in Qatar and the Brazil boss will already be planning for the tournament that starts in eight months’ time.

Guimaraes – whose four Brazil caps, barring his participation in last summer’s Olympics, have come in the qualifying campaign – will be hoping to impress his national boss if given the opportunity.

Guimaraes has arrived in his native country and he posted on Twitter to give fans an update of his whereabouts.

The post translates: ‘Prepared and ready for another challenge defending the national team’.

The former Lyon man has started the last three Premier League games and he looks to be getting better and better with every passing appearance.

Newcastle’s number 39 has successfully acclimatised to the tempo and rigours of English football, but has also been able to implement his classy and composed style of play to Eddie Howe’s side.

The industrious ball-playing technician looks destined to be a star on Tyneside and he is only going to improve with a full pre-season under his belt.

Howe will be well aware that in Guimaraes he has a player that both him and PIF can build around as the quest for major honours hopefully draws closer with every passing season.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Bruno Guimaraes’ performances go up a notch even further for the Toon Army after the international break.

That’s because his furry companions will be there greet to him when he returns to Tyneside.
