Bruno Guimaraes sends message to fans as his first Newcastle season comes to an end

Bruno Guimaraes is excited for the ‘future’ after his first Newcastle United season came to an end yesterday.

The Brazilian started once again for the Magpies, who won 2-1 at Turf Moor, relegating Burnley in the process.

While it was a crushing defeat for the Clarets, it carries on the wave of momentum that is engulfing Newcastle right now.

Monday against Arsenal was special – it felt like a real coming of age performance. The players were backed tremendously, with the kind of atmosphere that hasn’t been seen for a long time.

Then Eddie Howe took his players to Burnley, and they delivered again. While they weren’t at the same ridiculous standards as they were against Arsenal, they were still good enough to get the job done.

Bruno wasn’t the star at Turf Moor. It was actually one of his quieter performances in a black and white shirt. But it was still a positive showing, and fans are buzzing to see what he can do for the club in the coming years.

Bruno Guimaraes toasts ‘crazy’ first four months with Newcastle

After the game, the 24-year-old sent an emotional message to fans on Twitter.

He wrote: “How crazy is to think that it was my first season here! It’s even crazier to think that it was only 4 months! Thanks to all the fans for making me feel at home from the first game here! It was just the beginning! The future promises a lot of good things. See you soon NUFC fans.”

It’s been a remarkable start to life on Tyneside for Bruno. He joined the club in January for £42million and hasn’t looked back.

We knew he’d be special when he signed – he was already a Brazil international. But the impact he’s had has been transformative.

He’s the kind of midfielder we’ve been craving for years, and he has the potential to go on and become one of our greatest ever players. That speaks volumes about his first four months in the Premier League.

Bruno’s produced so many magical moments already. His first goal, the last-second winner against Leicester, the Norwich chip – it’s hard to believe all that happened in just four months. In the words of Bruno, it’s ‘crazy’.

Toon fans made Bruno feel at home from day one, and he’s rewarded them with scintillating performance after scintillating performance.

But as the midfielder says, this is just the beginning. The future is incredibly bright for Newcastle, and Bruno will be at the heart of it.

‘The future promises a lot of good things’. It certainly does Bruno, it certainly does…
