Bruno Guimaraes posts nine word message after seeing news about 23-year-old Newcastle player today

Two of Newcastle United’s best players will be going head-to-head during the upcoming international break.

After the Magpies’ FA Cup clash with Manchester City, which Kevin De Bruyne is unavailable for, there will be a break domestically.

While some of Newcastle United’s players will have a couple of weeks without a game, that is not the case for Bruno Guimaraes. He is in the Brazil squad, and will be playing at Wembley against England later this month.

And that means that he will possibly be playing against Anthony Gordon, as the 23-year-old has been named in Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions squad for the first ever time. They face Brazil on March 23rd, with Gordon potentially making his international debut next Saturday.

It is an incredible achievement for Gordon, and he has already received a message of congratulations from Alan Shearer. Now Gordon’s teammate Bruno has sent his own message of support.

Following the announcement that Gordon is in the England squad, Bruno has taken to his official X account to send a message to his Toon teammate.

He wrote: “Congrats bro you deserved it! See you in Wembley.”

Newcastle duo set to face each other at Wembley

It is going to be very strange seeing Bruno and Gordon on opposite teams. They are normally teammates in black and white, being roared on by the Toon Army. But that will not be the case on March 23rd at Wembley.

Before then, Bruno and Gordon have a chance to book another date at Wembley. If the Magpies beat Manchester City in the FA Cup on Saturday then they will compete at the national stadium in the semi finals. That would mean another trip to Wembley for Newcastle fans, after they descended on the capital for the Carabao Cup final last season.

Gordon will hope to be involved against Man City this weekend, and the fact that he is in the England squad suggests that the knee injury he suffered on Monday against Chelsea is nothing to worry about.
