Bruno Guimaraes has given one of his Newcastle United teammates a new nickname.

It was a few years ago that Bruno Guimaraes called Joe Willock ‘Willockinho’, likening the midfielder to a Brazilian with his skill and trickery.

Now the Newcastle United captain has christened another Toon teammate with a samba-inspired nickname.

Bruno Guimaraes loves what Will Osula did this season

As part of Newcastle United’s end of the season awards, the Toon players have been making nominations for categories such as goal of the season, save of the season and funniest moment of the season.

The latest category is hairstyle of the season, with Bruno Guimaraes giving his vote to Will Osula.

Osula dyed his hair blonde in December, with the young striker doing his best to copy the Magpies’ Brazilian duo, Bruno and Joelinton.

The £10million player’s decision to change his hair has resulted in a new nickname, with Bruno calling Osula ‘Osulinha’ during a video for the club’s official social media channels.

“Hairstyle of the season, I would go for Osulinha,” he said.

“A new Brazilian we have got in our squad. Blonde hair for you, Osula. Yeah, I like it.”

Jamaal Lascelles weighed in on Osula’s hair, saying: “He dyed it blonde just because he thinks and he wants to be Brazilian.”

That sentiment was shared by Harvey Barnes and Tino Livramento, who could not hold back a smile while talking about the 21-year-old’s hair.

Will Osula set for busy summer before Newcastle United return

The 2025/26 season has been very productive for Osula. He has grown as a player since joining Newcastle United, with Osula praised for his improvement.

While he has not played as much as he would have hoped, he has shown potential and got himself a couple of goals. On top of that, he has a medal after Newcastle United won the Carabao Cup.

But the season is not over for Osula. He is part of the Denmark Under-21s squad that is competing at the European Championship. They will hope to dethrone England, who go into the tournament as holders.

Tino Livramento is part of the England squad, so you have to imagine there has been a bit of banter between the defender and Osula.

The Danish youngster is wearing the number nine shirt for his country, and will compete in Group B against Finland, Netherlands and Ukraine.
