A fourth Newcastle United star could be in line for a new contract.

It was announced on Saturday that Ross Wilson is Newcastle’s new sporting director, and he looks set for a very busy start to life at St James’ Park.

It was recently reported that Newcastle have delayed offering Sandro Tonali a new contract until Wilson’s arrival, while the likes of Tino Livramento and Sven Botman are also in line for new deals.

Newcastle’s strong PSR position should allow Wilson to hand those three players improved contracts, while a fourth player could also be getting an extension.

Newcastle United offer Bruno Guimaraes a new contract

The player in question is Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes. The 27-year-old has a deal with the Magpies until 2028, but that could soon change according to reports in Brazil.

UOL are reporting that Newcastle have offered Bruno a new five-year deal at St James’ Park, as they aim to tie him down until 2030.

The report states that the contract offer would see Bruno earn around £13million-a-year on Tyneside, further strengthening his position as the club’s highest earner.

UOL add that the Magpies are proposing an extension for Bruno in an attempt to ward off interest from Saudi Arabia.

PIF clubs have tried to sign Bruno in the past, while the midfielder was also the subject of Premier League interest recently.

Bruno Guimaraes transfer interest rejected this summer

Geordie Boot Boys exclusively revealed that Manchester City asked about signing Bruno during the summer transfer window.

They were in talks with Newcastle over a possible deal for Tino Livramento, and also took the opportunity to enquire about Bruno’s availability.

As was the case with Livramento, Newcastle United issued a firm ‘no’ in response to Man City’s advances.

The Magpies have no interest in letting Bruno leave, with the Brazil international going from strength to strength since being awarded the captaincy.

He is a modern-day Newcastle United legend for what he has achieved since joining in January 2022, and the club are hoping he can continue to cement his legacy on Tyneside by signing a new deal.

Bruno is one of Newcastle’s best ever midfielders, and the club are looking to reward him as such.
