Newcastle United could be set to hand Bruno Guimaraes the ultimate reward.

Guimaraes joined Newcastle United in January 2022 from Lyon and has since become one of their greatest players in modern history.

The brilliant Brazilian has been a key figure at the club during the PIF era, playing in almost every game since his arrival and captaining the team to their Carabao Cup victory in March.

Such is his love for the club, Guimaraes urged Newcastle to sign players this summer. He wants the Newcastle United owners to strengthen Eddie Howe’s squad ahead of next season, when they will be back in the Champions League

Guimaraes is staying at Newcastle this summer and reports from Brazil suggest he’s in line for a huge reward.

Newcastle United considering building a statue for Bruno Guimaraes

According to UOL, Newcastle are considering building a statue for the midfielder.

They claim that the 27-year-old is set to reject moves to Saudi Arabia this summer for a number of reasons, too.

Guimaraes wants to start for Brazil at next summer’s World Cup and fears a move to Saudi would threaten that.

He also wants to stay for at least one more season to build on the Carabao Cup victory and Newcastle’s Champions League qualification.

What Bruno Guimaraes has said about his Newcastle United future

Guimaraes has publicly talked about next season at Newcastle, so it seems there was never really a doubt he would stay for another year at least.

After the final game of the season against Everton, he captioned an Instagram message: “Thank you for all the support throughout the season, NUFC fans. 24/25 was magical, and we want more and more to make history for this club! Thank you for everything, and we’re counting on you for next season.”

That is brilliant news for Newcastle. Perhaps one day a move to Saudi will appeal and the riches potentially on offer there can hardly be sniffed at.

For now, however, there is plenty of work still to be done on Tyneside.

Hopefully, the club can act on his demand for new signings and give him a platform on which to shine.
