Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has made Arsenal suffer this season.
The Magpies have beaten Arsenal on three separate occasions without conceding a goal. In each victory, Alexander Isak has been outstanding.
He scored the winner in the Premier League back in November, while Isak then scored at the Emirates as Newcastle put one foot in the Carabao Cup final.
Eddie Howe’s side then got the job done last week, as Isak tormented the Arsenal centre-backs in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg.
Arsenal were poor in the semi-final, summing up exactly why they need to sign a new striker. Arsenal fans think they need Isak, and there has been a clear desperation from supporters and the media to get him to North London.

But that is not going to happen, while Arsenal are now enduring even more misery in attack.
Not only has Isak embarrassed them at a time when they need a striker, they are now even more desperate for a player like the Sweden international.
That is because, according to the Athletic’s David Ornstein, Arsenal have lost Kai Havertz for the rest of the season due to injury.
The German attacker has torn his hamstring during a warm weather training camp in Dubai, and will play no more part in the 2024/25 campaign.
Arsenal fans will now be even more angry that they do not have Isak, while the striker aims to continue his good form in black and white. On top of that, Newcastle want to hand Isak a new contract, which would put him even further out of Arsenal’s reach.
Paul Scholes makes Isak to Arsenal claim
Newcastle United fans have been left infuriated by the talk of Isak going to Arsenal. It has been very media driven, despite the Gunners seemingly not making a formal move for the striker. In truth, they probably cannot afford a player who is one of the best striker’s in world football right now.
Interestingly, Paul Scholes has told the Overlap YouTube channel that he does not envision Isak making the move to Arsenal.
“I don’t see a possibility of him going to Arsenal,” he said.
“He needs to go bigger and better. We’re talking about Real Madrid here, Liverpool need a centre forward. I think Arsenal would be an option but I think they would be down the list of options.
“I don’t mean that in a bad way but he’s at Newcastle, a really good team, a brilliant team, but they’re not going to win league titles, that’s the next stage of his career. I think it would be a risk to go to Arsenal and do the same thing.”
Scholes’ claim about Isak needing to play for a bigger club will rightly anger Toon fans, but his point about league titles certainly stands. It is a reminder that Newcastle United must continue progressing and growing to retain players of Isak’s calibre.
