Anthony Gordon is well on course to enjoy his best ever scoring season, but he is not the only Newcastle United player who is having joy in front of goal.
The Magpies beat Crystal Palace 4-0 on Saturday, with four different players finding the net. That is impressive, although not quite as impressive as when Newcastle beat Sheffield United 8-0 with eight different scorers earlier this season.
Eddie Howe‘s side are the Premier League entertainers, scoring more goals than any other side so far. After nine games, Newcastle have found the net 24 times, which is two more than Brighton who have the second highest tally.
Alexander Isak is the Magpies’ top scorer with seven, but the goals have very much been shared around so far this season. In fact, Newcastle already have 12 different scorers in all competitions, with Jacob Murphy the latest to open his account for the campaign.
Gordon has scored three goals himself, and he believes that Newcastle’s flexibility in attack is what is making the Magpies so strong this season.

Anthony Gordon explains why Newcastle are ‘such a hard team to play against’
Following the 4-0 win over Crystal Palace, Gordon spoke to NUFC TV and addressed Newcastle’s goalscoring prowess.
“What’s crazy is the amount of different goalscorers,” he said.
“It’s not just coming from the same places every time and if them players don’t score we’re not getting results.
“We’re such a hard team to play against because anyone can score, anyone can get an assist, anyone can be man of the match or play well. That’s the type of team we are. We’re a very together team and everyone is playing really well.”

Newcastle are on fire in front of goal right now
Newcastle have been ruthless in front of goal so far this season, and are not just relying on one person to find the net.
While Isak and Callum Wilson are once again battling it out to be the club’s top scorer, we have a range of other players who are chipping in. Sean Longstaff is scoring more consistently, while Gordon has added end product to his game as well.
The 22-year-old is playing the best football of his career right now, and believes he can get even better. That will come with more goals and assists, as Gordon continues to develop under Eddie Howe’s guidance.
The Newcastle boss has built an incredible team, and one that can hurt you in so many different ways. That is why we are so dangerous right now, as so many teams have already discovered.
