Norwich City have reportedly made a £15million bid to sign former Newcastle United forward Adam Armstrong.
That’s according to the Sun, who claim that the Canaries’ bid is close to what Blackburn Rovers want for the 24-year-old. And this is a bid that Newcastle will be very interested in.
When the Magpies sold Armstrong back in 2019, they included a 40% sell on clause. That means Newcastle will benefit financially if Blackburn sell him this summer.
And they may have to, with his contract set to expire next year.

That means they could lose him for nothing. It would also mean Newcastle lose their 40% sell on clause.
That’s why Blackburn are willing to sell Armstrong, but only for the right price.
Norwich’s reported £15million bid for Adam Armstrong will interest Newcastle
According to Lancs Live, Rovers want closer to £20million. They also add that Crystal Palace are keen.

Southampton are another option, as they need to replace Danny Ings, who shockingly joined Aston Villa on Wednesday night.
The Saints have been linked with Armstrong this summer, and a move would make sense now they have a sudden need for a striker and cash in their pocket.
Regardless, it looks like Newcastle could have some money coming their way. And with more and more clubs keen on Armstrong, his price will surely increase.
That’s good news for the Magpies, who seemingly have limited resources to improve their squad. As it stands, Newcastle are yet to make a single signing this summer.

Bringing Armstrong back to St James’ Park would be a good bit of business, but it seems as though we aren’t in the running. However, any transfer for the local lad will benefit his former club.
If Norwich’s reported £15million bid is accepted, the Magpies will pocket £6million.
