If Blackburn get the fee they reportedly want for Adam Armstrong, then Newcastle will be in the money.
The forward is a target for multiple Premier League clubs this summer, after an incredible season in the Championship.
Armstrong scored 28 times, with only Ivan Toney scoring more.
Newcastle have been linked in recent months, although talk of the Magpies’ interest has died down since the transfer window opened.
Regardless of whether Newcastle are keen or not, they will be keeping an eye on the future of Armstrong.

That’s because they will receive 40% of whatever is paid for the 24-year-old. The sell-on clause was inserted when Armstrong joined Blackburn in 2019.
However, it recently looked like Newcastle wouldn’t receive that much. It was claimed earlier in the month that Armstrong could be available for as little as £8million.
If that was the case, Newcastle’s sell-on clause would only bag them £3.2million.
However, that fee has now been disputed.
Newcastle could still possibly receive £8million from Armstrong transfer
According to Hampshire Live, Blackburn actually value Armstrong between £15million and £20million. That fee seems a lot more realistic for a man of his talents.
They state that Southampton are keen, but will only make a move if Blackburn lower their price.
Armstrong is entering the final year of his Rovers contract, meaning this is the last summer Newcastle can benefit from the 40% sell on clause.

If Armstrong did leave for £20million, the Magpies would pocket a fairly sizeable £8million.
And with money set to be tight at St James’ Park unless there is a takeover, that figure would massively help Steve Bruce out. It could even be what helps us re-sign Joe Willock.
The £8million fee that was touted two weeks ago felt unrealistic, and, according to Hampshire Live, it is.
