There is going to be a major rebuild at Newcastle United this summer, which could result in some long-serving players leaving St James’ Park.
The Magpies have various players whose contracts are due to expire at the end of the season, and it was recently claimed that Eddie Howe would be making decisions on who stays and who goes in the coming weeks.
We have already seen Emil Krafth extend his stay on Tyneside, while it remains to be seen what will happen to club captain Jamaal Lascelles.
Another player whose Newcastle United contract expires this summer is Paul Dummett, and there is now an update on what the future may hold for the Geordie defender.

Paul Dummett to leave Newcastle United
According to journalist Joel Bland on X, Paul Dummett is going to be leaving Newcastle United this summer when his contract expires.
He states that this will be the 32-year-old’s final season on Tyneside, with the club not planning to offer him a new deal to remain at St James’ Park.
Dummett has played more than 200 games for Newcastle
Dummett signed a contract extension at the beginning of the season, but has barely featured since putting pen to paper on that new deal.
The academy graduate has made four appearances this season, with his two starts coming in the Carabao Cup. He impressed at centre-back in that competition, while his only Premier League appearance came off the bench during the 4-1 win over Chelsea back in November.
Dummett has spent his entire career at Newcastle United, making his senior debut back in January 2013. He has gone on to make more than 200 appearances for his boyhood club, scoring four goals.
The Wales international has spent the majority of his Toon career as a left-back, but has transitioned into a centre-back under Eddie Howe. However, he has not played much since Howe became manager at St James’ Park.
But he has always been valued for his role behind the scenes, and it will be interesting to see what type of farewell he receives if this really is the end of Dummett’s Newcastle United career.
