Newcastle United only made one signing during the January transfer window, bringing in someone who could have a very bright future on Tyneside.
The Magpies signed Alfie Harrison from Manchester City on transfer deadline day, with the 18-year-old agreeing a deal that could end up costing Newcastle United £3.5million in add-ons.
The hope is that he will blossom into a first-team star at St James’ Park, and that is partially why he decided to leave Man City and head to the North East. He was given a clear path to the senior side, and he is on that path now.
He made his Toon debut at the weekend, featuring in a 2-1 loss for the Under-21s against Liverpool.
Now he has been in action for the Under-18s, and Wednesday night was one to remember against his former side Manchester City.

Alfie Harrison scores for Newcastle United Under-18s
Alfie Harrison made his Newcastle Under-18s debut on Wednesday night, away to the club the Magpies bought him from.
The Toon youngsters were up against Manchester City, losing 4-2 on the road. They did come from 2-0 down, but conceded two late goals to fall to a defeat.
One of Newcastle’s goals was from Harrison, who is now up and running in black and white. The midfielder had been prolific at youth level for Man City, and he is going to try and do the same for Newcastle.
Harrison scored the Magpies’ first goal of the night, with a powerfully struck shot with his left foot finding the bottom right corner. It was a smart finish, and will hopefully be the first of many goals for the club. He came close on other occasions too, even striking the woodwork on his return to Man City.
While it may have been a defeat, it was a promising Under-18s bow for Harrison. He has arrived with a lot of potential, and he is certainly one to watch in the coming years.
