Eddie Howe has done it again, as Newcastle United beat Manchester United with ease on Monday night.
The Magpies know how to get results against the ‘big six’, and they did it comfortably at Old Trafford.
Newcastle beat Man United 2-0, with Eddie Howe’s side dominant from the first minute to the last.

Warren Barton tells Newcastle United fans to ‘stick together’ after beating Manchester United
After an inconsistent start to the season and disappointing displays against West Ham, Crystal Palace and Brentford, there was some discontent being aimed towards Eddie Howe.
However, the Newcastle United manager has bounced back in emphatic fashion, as his side finally find their groove.
Howe has silenced the critics, with former Toon defender Warren Barton issuing a key message to supporters on X in the aftermath of the 2-0 win over Manchester United.
After the win at Old Trafford, Barton posted on X: “People was doubting Eddie. Stick together.”
Newcastle United have the perfect manager
It is only in recent weeks that Newcastle United have really started to perform at a top level. They are finally playing well and scoring goals against teams at both ends of the division. Everything suddenly appears to be clicking into gear.
But there were issues earlier in the campaign, and fans were understandably frustrated. Sure, some of the reactions were probably over the top, but that is common place in football. And it is certainly amplified on social media.
However, Barton is right. Newcastle fans do need to stick together. The Magpies will not be perfect every week. That simply is not possible. But Howe will get it right more often than not, as he continues to prove why he is the right man for the job at St James’ Park.
He has raised standards and transformed the club since his arrival, and has the tactical talent to continue taking Newcastle United on a journey.
2024 has been an up and down year for the Magpies, but December has proven that 2025 can be special as long as Howe is at the helm. As fans, we must continue to back him.
