Eddie Howe has confirmed that he will rotate his options as Newcastle United play Tottenham in the Carabao Cup fourth round on Wednesday night.
Newcastle United vs Tottenham is a difficult Carabao Cup game for Howe to navigate.
Indeed, Spurs have recorded some impressive results under Thomas Frank and will arrive at St James’ Park off the back of a 3-0 win over Everton.
Howe needs to find the right balance between keeping Newcastle’s key players fit and available throughout a hectic run of fixtures and naming a strong enough side to progress.
This is an important competition for the Newcastle United manager. His side are defending champions and not progressing into at least the quarter-finals would have to be seen as a major disappointment.
Ahead of the game, here’s all you need to know on the confirmed team news, injury latest and predicted lineup.

Newcastle United confirmed team news vs Tottenham
Howe has confirmed that Sven Botman is a doubt for Newcastle after taking a knock to the head against Fulham.
While the defender has not suffered a concussion, he did not train on Monday after suffering a nasty cut that required stitches.
“Sven has no concussion – it was a cut, a bad cut, which he had stapled together”, confirmed Howe on Monday.
“He didn’t train yesterday, but we will see how he is today.”

Fabian Schar could step in for him and Howe has confirmed he will be rotating. With that in mind, the likes of Jacob Ramsey, Joe Willock and William Osula could all feature.
“It is important for this game to make the right decision – we want to progress,” added the Toon boss.
“The competition means a lot to us, we are current holders, we don’t want to give that up easily,” added Howe.
“However, I have a squad, I need to try and get the balance right… There are players who need the football.”
Newcastle United injury latest ahead of Tottenham clash
Yoane Wissa, Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento are all injury concerns within the Newcastle United squad.
All of Wissa, Hall and Livramento are expected back in November barring any further setbacks.
At this stage, Botman would appear to be the only doubt.
Newcastle United predicted lineup vs Tottenham
Aaron Ramsdale started in the last Carabao Cup game and could do so again here. Kieran Trippier may be afforded a rest after an intense run of action, too.
There are not many options at left-back, however, so Dan Burn may have to continue there.
