Newcastle United are back in Champions League action on Wednesday afternoon but they will be without Tino Livramento.

Newcastle United play Union Saint-Gilloise in Brussels as Eddie Howe looks to record his second Champions League victory in charge of the club.

Howe’s side were narrowly beaten by Barcelona last time out, while Belgian champions USG beat PSV Eindhoven 3-1 away from home.

USG certainly carry a lot of danger and Newcastle will need to improve in an attacking sense, with goals outside of Nick Woltemade having proven a problem so far this season.

With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest confirmed team news as well as our predicted lineup.

Newcastle United confirmed team news vs USG

Newcastle have confirmed Fabian Schar and Lewis Hall are in the squad, with the defenders having missed games of late.

Schar has been dealing with a head injury, while Hall sat out of Sunday’s Premier League defeat to Arsenal due to having his minutes managed.

Livramento is injured for Newcastle after landing awkwardly against the Gunners. The England defender was stretchered off the pitch at St James’ Park, sparking fears about a serious injury.

Prior to the game, Howe admitted it would be best not to speculate on Livramento’s injury.

“I’m better off waiting before giving any indication on that because that could be a mistake,” said the Newcastle United manager.

“Let’s wait and see in the next couple of days.”

Latest Newcastle United injuries

As well as Livramento, Newcastle are missing some other key players.

Yoane Wissa and Jacob Ramsey are both injured for Newcastle, with the duo hoping to return after next month’s international break.
