Everyone connected with Newcastle United will be hoping for positive news on Tino Livramento after his major injury concern.
Livramento was stretchered off for Newcastle United against Arsenal on Sunday, with the defender visibly upset.
He landed awkwardly after a challenge from William Saliba and briefly tried to carry on before going off.
It was a major blow for Newcastle United, who then let a lead slip.
Nick Woltemade had opened the scoring but late goals from Mikel Merino and Gabriel inflicted another defeat upon Eddie Howe’s side.
The idea of losing Livramento for a prolonged period of time was a deeper concern, however.
The 22-year-old is one of Newcastle’s star players and it was gutting to imagine him facing another lengthy period on the sidelines, having suffered an ACL injury during his days as a Southampton player.
Luke Edwards, however, provided a reasonably promising update after the game.

Tino Livramento injury latest
Clearly, it’s difficult to know exactly what will happen with Livramento until the dust has settled.
Edwards, however, relayed some positive information on social media platform X.
The Daily Telegraph journalist tweeted: “It doesn’t sound like Tino Livramento has suffered another ACL injury, which is a relief. Will know more later this week, but he’s likely to be out for a while whatever it is. Huge loss.”
He then added: “Have to wait for scans etc but fingers crossed he gets some semblance of good news.”
Fellow full-back Lewis Hall missed the Arsenal game but could reportedly return for Wednesday’s Champions League trip to Union Saint-Gilloise.
Eddie Howe issued Tino Livramento update after Newcastle United vs Arsenal
Naturally, Howe was concerned for his defender after the game.
The Newcastle United manager admitted it was “distressing” to see him come off on a stretcher.
“Seeing him go off in that manner was really distressing,” he said.
Livramento is a crucial player at Newcastle and while it’d be a blow to miss him for any great deal of time, the most important thing right now is the defender’s health.
He has been an excellent player ever since he arrived and still has scope for improvement. It’s difficult to know exactly what happens next but the player himself is the biggest concern as things stand.
