Anthony Gordon is a doubt for Newcastle United’s Premier League clash with Brentford on Sunday.
Gordon injured his hip while playing for Newcastle United against Athletic Bilbao and was subbed off before half-time during Wednesday’s Champions League victory.
The England international has been in poor form for Newcastle United in the Premier League, although Eddie Howe has previously sounded confident Gordon can turn things around this season.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest team news ahead of Brentford vs Newcastle United.

Newcastle United confirmed team news vs Brentford
Lewis Hall could play for Newcastle against Brentford, though may not be risked from the start.
Hall made his return from a hamstring injury against Bilbao with an impressive brief cameo earlier this week.
Still, given the extent of his injury problems in recent months, the left-back could be set to start on the bench.
Earlier this week, Howe confirmed that the illness bug that had been inside the Newcastle camp had thankfully passed.
Newcastle United injury latest ahead of Brentford clash
Howe is without some key players in the Newcastle United squad.
Indeed, Newcastle’s injury list contains the likes of William Osula, Yoane Wissa and Tino Livramento.
All three of those players are expected back reasonably soon but will miss Sunday’s trip to the Gtech Community Stadium.
Newcastle United predicted XI vs Brentford
The Newcastle United manager has Harvey Barnes as a potential alternative to Gordon. Elsewhere, Howe may stick with largely the same team who beat Bilbao.
Newcastle United predicted XI vs Brentford: Pope; Trippier, Thiaw, Botman, Burn; Tonali, Guimaraes, Joelinton; Murphy, Woltemade, Barnes
