Newcastle United have been looking to make new signings today, but the main event is the Carabao Cup semi final second leg at St James’ Park.
The Magpies are 90 minutes away from Wembley, and know that they will advance to the final of the competition if they avoid defeat to Southampton.
Joelinton’s goal at St Mary’s separates the two sides at the halfway stage, with Eddie Howe’s team now in the driving seat to qualify for the Carabao Cup final.
It is going to be a special night inside St James’ Park. Unsurprisingly, it is a sell out. Fans have been asked to bring their black and white scarves again by Wor Flags, after it created such a stunning visual ahead of the quarter final win over Leicester.
There will also be a musical performance before the game, with DJ and Toon fan Schak set to perform inside the ground at 7.30pm.

And that isn’t the only thing that the club has planned for the buildup to kickoff.
New signings Anthony Gordon and Harrison Ashby to receive Newcastle welcome
The club have confirmed that Newcastle’s two newest signings will be unveiled to the crowd before the game.
Anthony Gordon signed on Sunday for £45million, while Harrison Ashby’s £3million arrival was announced on transfer deadline day.
Neither player will feature against Southampton, but they will get to experience the crowd and receive a warm welcome before the game.
However, it looks like they will be the only new arrivals on deadline day. The Magpies’ search for a midfielder is proving to be difficult, with deals for Conor Gallagher and Sander Berge falling short.
There is also set to be a major departure, with Jonjo Shelvey set to sign for Nottingham Forest. However, he is expected to be at St James’ Park to say his goodbyes.
It would be great if he gets to go out in front of the crowd like Gordon and Ashby, but nothing has been confirmed on that front.
