Newcastle had to battle and dig in to maintain their unbeaten league run with a 2-1 home win over Brighton at St James’ Park.
There was early pressure to withstand when Graham Potter’s side played some flowing football but were unable to find a breakthrough.
Jamie Reuben has reacted to the win on Twitter and sent a message to the Toon fans in the wake of yet another victory under Eddie Howe.
Ryan Fraser broke away to score and stun the visitors after Jacob Murphy hit the post and Brighton did not fully recover.
Fabian Schar made it 2-0 not long after and Alan Shearer hailed him as his man of the match not long after the full time whistle.
Brighton did pull a goal back via Lewis Dunk after some set piece defending that will not have pleased Howe at all.

The second half was nervy and Newcastle had to be compact and confident but they did keep their shape and composure well to get the job done.
That is a huge sign of progress under Howe, against a side they had never scored against in the Premier League until today.
Chris Wood is still waiting for his first goal but Allan Saint-Maximin came off the bench after a period of injury and looked as sharp as ever.
