Newcastle were on the receiving end of a controversial decision during their victory over Nottingham Forest
Newcastle United made it three wins in a row in all competitions after producing a second-half comeback to beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.
Forest entered the match in third place in the Premier League table, but their four-match unbeaten streak was ended after goals from Alexander Isak, Joelinton and Harvey Barnes.
Eddie Howe claimed Newcastle’s away form has been a standout negative this season but the Magpies put on a superb display in Nottingham.
However, things didn’t go according to plan early on.

Newcastle United subject to ‘nonsense’ vs Nottingham Forest
Forest opened the scoring in the first half through centre-back Murillo, who headed in from Anthony Elanga’s free-kick in the 21st minute.
However, Newcastle fans in the away section of the City Ground were already fuming from an incident minutes before when Tino Livramento took an elbow to the face from Ryan Yates.
The 21-year-old was sent to the ground after the collision, but appeals for a free-kick were waved away by referee Anthony Taylor.

Instead, Livramento had to go off the pitch for treatment while Forest continued to attack and earned a dangerous free-kick after committing a blatant foul.
Jamie Carragher demands Premier League rule change
It wasn’t only Newcastle fans who were left angered by Taylor’s decision with commentator Jamie Carragher demanding a change to the rules.
Speaking on Sky Sports Main Event [2:09pm], Carragher said: “The way that rule has been set up at the moment, it’s something to be looked at.
“I mean, Livramento has had a whack there, should have had a free kick.
“Nottingham Forest have got a free kick, Livramento can’t defend it. They are actually down to 10 men. That has to change. That’s nonsense that.”
Luckily, Livramento’s absence didn’t prove costly and Newcastle were able to defend the free-kick, but it could have had a big impact on the match.
