Despite all of the Champions League excitement, Newcastle United have a very big Premier League game against Brighton And Hove Albion on Saturday evening.
Eddie Howe’s side are desperate for a win heading into the international break, having lost two games in a row. The Manchester City defeat saw us lose to a much better team, while the Liverpool loss was heartbreaking given the circumstances.
It is now vital that Newcastle bounce back, but that will be easier said than done at the Amex Stadium. Brighton have started the season well, while they are about to sign Ansu Fati on loan from Barcelona.
It is a game that the Magpies might struggle in, and Paul Merson believes that will be the case. He has predicted a 2-2 draw between two of the Premier League’s most exciting clubs.
Now BBC Sport pundit Chris Sutton has given his verdict, and it turns out he agrees with the Arsenal legend.
Chris Sutton predicts Brighton vs Newcastle will be a draw
Sutton has predicted the scores of every Premier League game this weekend for BBC Sport, and has stated that Brighton vs Newcastle will be a 1-1 draw.
“A lot was made of Newcastle losing to 10 men,” he wrote.
“Liverpool is a game you’d expect them to see through, especially after taking the lead.
“Brighton ended up losing to West Ham and they play this expansive style of game; they like teams who come onto them and Newcastle will certainly do that.
“It’s impossible to predict this one. I’ll go for a draw.”

Sutton believes this game is impossible to predict, but has at least had a go and said it will be a score draw.
Heading into the game, it feels like that would be a good result. Obviously Howe will be looking for his side to secure all three points, but getting just one on the board would be sufficient.
Brighton are a top team, as we have already seen this season. However, they are certainly not perfect. They were beaten by West Ham last week, and the Magpies will look to do exactly what the Hammers did.
They hurt Brighton on the counter, and Newcastle certainly have the speed to do the same with the likes of Anthony Gordon, Alexander Isak and Miguel Almiron.
It is going to be a very challenging game on the south coast, and one where you would probably take a point before a ball is kicked.
