Newcastle United’s pre-season tour of Asia comes to an end on Sunday, with a showpiece friendly against Tottenham rounding off proceedings.

A difficult summer for Newcastle United has largely been compounded by some dreadful results on the pitch for Eddie Howe’s side.

Indeed, Team K-League beat Newcastle 1-0 on Wednesday, leaving the Carabao Cup winners without a win in pre-season to date.

The Newcastle United manager has seen his side lose to Celtic and Arsenal too, albeit they did put in a vastly improved performance against the Gunners after losing to the Scottish champions.

The Alexander Isak to Liverpool saga continues to dominate headlines too, made much worse by the fact that Newcastle are enduring a miserable summer in the transfer market

Still, there’s a chance to raise at least some morale if they can beat Premier League rivals Spurs in the South Korean capital of Seoul.

With that in mind, here’s how to watch Sunday’s game.

What Eddie Howe has said about Tottenham vs Newcastle United

The game will be an emotional one, although not from a Newcastle perspective.

Spurs captain Heung-min Son has confirmed that he will be leaving the club this summer, meaning Sunday’s game could be his final appearance after ten years in north London.

Son is an icon of Korean football, so will likely get a huge reception at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.

Speaking ahead of the game, Howe talked of how impressed he has been by the forward when coming up against him throughout his coaching career.

Howe said: “The biggest test, I think, for a player’s ability is consistency and longevity, and he’s been able to do that consistently every year.

“I’ve never spent time with him, but he seemed like an incredible professional and incredible person. So it will be a really great moment to share this last game for Tottenham against us and hopefully it’s a memorable occasion.”
