Newcastle United defender Harrison Ashby was not in the squad for the Carabao Cup final, but he was still at Wembley to witness the incredible support from the Toon Army.
Ashby is still yet to make his Newcastle debut since arriving from West Ham in January, but travelled with the team to see the Carabao Cup final against Manchester United on Sunday.
Sadly, it ended in disappointment for the Magpies, who were beaten 2-0 courtesy of goals from Casemiro and Marcus Rashford.
But Eddie Howe’s side gave it their all, and did the fans proud. It just wasn’t to be for Newcastle, who were unable to break down a resolute Man United side.
The supporters massively appreciated the effort that the Toon players put in, and responded with a wonderful tribute late in the game – one that blew Harrison Ashby away.

What Newcastle fans did inside Wembley before full time
When Newcastle fans entered Wembley and found their seat, they were met with either a black or white flag. They were waved before kickoff, and created an incredible visual.
But with Newcastle losing 2-0 heading into stoppage time, the flags were out again. The black and white stripes from the beginning of the game were back, as fans stuck with the team despite the imminent defeat.
It was a show of gratitude from the supporters, who have been taken on an incredible ride by this team.
Harrison Ashby reacts to what Newcastle fans did
Newcastle United fan account on Twitter, NUFC360, posted a video of the flags being waved in the dying stages of the game, and they received a reply from Ashby.
He posted two words about the video. He simply wrote: “Absolute class.”
That’s exactly what it was, and it was a beatiful moment at a time of disappointment. Newcastle fans showed their appreciation, even if it wasn’t the result we wanted.
It is the latest specatcular scene that Ashby has witnessed since signing for the club. He was introduced to supporters before the Carabao Cup semi final against Southampton, and the atmosphere on that night was electric.
There was a similar feeling inside Wembley, and Ashby was impressed with the support once again. The 21-year-old must be even more desperate to make his Toon debut.
