Newcastle United continue to be hit by injuries.
Even when down to the bare bones for the Champions League trip to Borussia Dortmund, Newcastle were dealt another blow.
Indeed, Callum Wilson was forced off at half-time in a fresh concern for Eddie Howe.
The Newcastle manager was forced to adapt for the trip to Germany.
Tino Livramento’s positioning was perhaps the best example of that. The 20-year-old first played out on the right wing before dropping back to right back and then moving to left-back.
Excellent on the night, the England U21 international continues to impress.
Still, Howe did not expect to have to go to such measures.
Tino Livramento: Eddie Howe never expected to play Newcastle star on the wing
According to The Athletic, the prospect of playing Livramento so far forward when he signed him from Southampton was not something Howe envisaged.
Still, it had to be done with so few other options. Perhaps Miguel Almiron could have started but with Jacob Murphy injured, Howe is having to spin a number of plates with such an intense schedule on the cards.

Tino Livramento: Newcastle’s gamble pays off
Questions might have been raised when Livramento was signed this summer. With Kieran Trippier playing so well and Harrison Ashby having only arrived a few months before, other areas might have been considered more pressing.
Still, the club are thought to have made a U-turn when Livramento became available, having not previously gone into the summer looking to sign a right-back.
Now, we must be thankful they did. Excellent against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup and one of the standouts for Newcastle in Dortmund, he is looking like an excellent investment in the immediate term, as well as the longer term one.
There is little reason he should not start away at Bournemouth on Saturday too.
