Alexander Isak is in remarkable form for Newcastle United.
The striker bagged another brace on Saturday as Newcastle came from behind to beat Southampton in the Premier League.
Isak has been in remarkable form this season and, as a result, is attracting some big praise.
Newcastle legend Alan Shearer thinks Isak is “world class” and it’s certainly difficult to disagree with that view.
Shearer believes the Sweden international is up there with Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah as the three world class forwards in the Premier League, having watched him star at Newcastle since pretty much the moment he first arrived.
With 19 goals in 25 appearances across all competitions this season, it’s difficult to think of a better forward around right now.
Fellow pundit Danny Murphy, however, took a more measured view.

Danny Murphy explains why Newcastle star Alexander Isak isn’t world class yet
Responding to Shearer’s claim when speaking on Match of the Day, Murphy suggested it was still too early to put Isak in the world class bracket.
While the former England and Liverpool midfielder did say Isak had the potential to be considered world class, Murphy says there’s still something left to prove.
“I actually think he’s got world class ability but to call him a world class player, I think you’ve got to do it for longer,” he said.
Though hardly the most outrageous statement of all time, Isak has been one of the best forwards around for at least the last two years. Nothing is guaranteed of course but it’s difficult to see that changing any time soon.

Newcastle United insiders know what is going to happen to Alexander Isak going forward
Newcastle think Isak is a world talent and believe he is the player to build the team around.
Based on current evidence, it’s difficult to disagree.
While interest is likely to emerge in a player that good, keeping the striker happy at the club is the most important thing for Newcastle.
Isak would be almost impossible to replace and still has room to grow. Even if they did bank huge money for him, actually going out to sign a replacement of similar quality is another thing entirely.
