Bruno Guimaraes predicted Newcastle United’s 3-0 win over Sunderland a long time ago.

That is his message to Toon fans after the game, after Newcastle battered Sunderland at the Stadium Of Light to advance to the fourth round of the FA Cup.

It ended up being a comfortable afternoon on Wearside, despite there being a huge amount of fear heading into the game.

Newcastle were dominant against Sunderland, with a Dan Ballard own goal and an Alexander Isak brace giving the Magpies victory over their biggest rivals.

Eddie Howe’s side were expected to win, and they did it in emphatic fashion. It was an almost perfect afternoon for his side, with Bruno Guimaraes and Miguel Almiron the top performers in black and white.

Bruno Guimaraes ‘knew’ Newcastle would beat Sunderland

Bruno Guimaraes was outstanding, and he has delivered a message to supporters after the game. He has re-posted an old picture of him playing on FIFA 23, where he beat Sunderland 3-0 with the Magpies.

Alongside the picture, he wrote: ”I knew it a long time ago.”

His message received a reply from Toon co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi, who could only laugh at the Brazilian midfielder’s post.

Bruno Guimaraes was immense against Sunderland

Bruno knew Newcastle were going to win a long time ago, and he was outstanding during his first ever Tyne-Wear derby.

He dominated the midfield battle, showing his class on the ball as well as his toughness an intelligence without it.

There was also the usual passion from Bruno, as he celebrated wildly in front of the travelling Toon Army after pressing Sunderland in their own box as the ball deflected off him for a goal kick. The roar was incredible – you would think he had scored himself!

But he left that to Black Cats defender Ballard and Toon striker Isak, as Newcastle cruised to a 3-0 victory on Wearside.

Eddie Howe needed his big players to stand up and deliver at the Stadium Of Light, and Bruno did exactly that.
