Alexander Isak was on the scoresheet once again for Newcastle United on Saturday.
The Magpies continued their goalscoring form despite going behind early against Tottenham Hotspur, carrying on from the win against Manchester United.
Former Newcastle target Dominic Solanke got on the scoresheet, getting ahead of Sven Botman on his return to Newcastle’s first-team squad after 10 months on the sidelines with an ACL injury.
Anthony Gordon got on the scoresheet for a second time in three games thanks to his sixth-minute strike past Brandon Austin.
Isak gave Newcastle the lead seven minutes from half-time – he managed to get a touch on Jacob Murphy’s cross which was initially knocked on by Radu Dragusin.
The Swede’s finish means that he joins two Newcastle stars who have achieved a remarkable Premier League milestone.

Isak matches Shearer and Joe Willock in consecutive Premier League goals
Isak has been in fine form after a rocky start to the season – he only scored once in his first six appearances.
Since the 2-1 defeat to Chelsea in October, Isak has scored 12 goals in as many games. The goal against Spurs means he has found the net in seven consecutive games.
It’s only the third time a player has done this in the Premier League for Newcastle with Alan Shearer and Joe Willock both doing the same.
Shearer achieved it in 1996 while Willock hit a great run of form during his loan stint at the Magpies in 2021.
Isak also moves closer to matching Callum Wilson’s Premier League tally at Newcastle which would put him up to second in the all-time rankings at the club. He also found the net in Newcastle’s Carabao Cup win against Chelsea in October.
Isak could break an all-time Premier League record
The Swede’s goalscoring run doesn’t look like stopping. Only Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah have more goals than Isak this season.
The 25-year-old is now only four games away from equalling Jamie Vardy’s all-time record for most consecutive goals in the Premier League – he would be in line to break the record when Newcastle visit Manchester City at the Etihad on February 15.
| Appearances (League) | Goals | |

There are several games Newcastle must get through first including both of the Magpies’ semi-final legs against Arsenal and the FA Cup tie against Bromley at St James’ Park.
