Miley was brilliant for Newcastle against Palace, both from a defensive standpoint and going forward.
Indeed, it was the Newcastle academy star who kept the ball alive after a Harvey Barnes cross to allow Guimaraes to score.
Taking to social media platform X, Shearer wrote: “Thoroughly deserved the win. Should have been by more!!! Lewis Miley was again superb, MOTM.”

Miley continues to prove himself excellent in whatever position Newcastle play him in.
As per FotMob data, the 19-year-old completed the most dribbles (5) out of anyone on the pitch.
Furthermore, he completed the most passes (59) and was the only player to amass a 100% passing competition rate.
Miley won 8/10 of his ground duels too, while creating one chance.
His future may lie in central midfield going forward but Miley looks just as good at right-back.
Miley has been brilliant for Newcastle this season and shows little sign of slowing down.
