Newcastle United made their third senior signing of the summer earlier this week, and now number four is on its way.

It was confirmed on Tuesday that Newcastle have signed Malick Thiaw from AC Milan. He has signed a four-year deal at St James’ Park, with Thiaw costing Newcastle £34.3million.

The centre-back is Newcastle’s third signing of the summer after Anthony Elanga and Aaron Ramsdale.

Signing number four is suddenly not far away, with Fabrizio Romano sharing an exciting update on the Magpies’ transfer activity.

Jacob Ramsey is on his way to Newcastle United for a medical

It was reported earlier this week that Jacob Ramsey wants to join Newcastle United, and it looks like he is going to get his wish.

Eddie Howe has been in the market for a new centre-midfielder, with Ramsey now set to become a member of the Newcastle United squad.

According to Fabrizio Romano, a £40million deal is in place for Newcastle United to sign Ramsey from Aston Villa.

Romano states that personal terms have been agreed between the player and the club, with Ramsey now travelling to Tyneside to undergo a medical.

Geordie Boot Boys understand that Howe is a huge fan of Ramsey, so he will be delighted that this deal is heading towards its conclusion.

Newcastle United’s next priority after Jacob Ramsey deal

Once Newcastle get the Ramsey deal over the line, they will have bought a centre-midfielder, goalkeeper, centre-back and right winger.

That leaves just one position left to strengthen: up front.

Aside from the Alexander Isak situation, Newcastle United still need to replace Callum Wilson. He left the club earlier this summer to become a free agent and has since signed for West Ham.

All the while, Newcastle have failed to bring in a new striker. That will hopefully change soon, with Newcastle aiming to sign Yoane Wissa from Brentford.

A deal for the 28-year-old could potentially conclude the Magpies’ transfer business, unless Isak leaves.

Isak wants to join Liverpool, but that will only happen if a replacement is identified and a suitable offer is submitted. Newcastle are looking for an Isak replacement, but are not confident about getting one.
