Brighton and Hove Albion winger Yankuba Minteh is thriving after being sold by Newcastle United in the summer of 2024.
PSR limitations really hurt Newcastle United in the summer of 2024, with two exciting young players sold to meet regulations.
Elliot Anderson moved to Nottingham Forest and has now become one of the top English midfielders around.
As if that doesn’t hurt enough, Yankuba Minteh’s move to Brighton and Hove Albion has seen him become a star.

Yankuba Minteh attracting major interest after Newcastle United exit
Minteh joined Newcastle from Odense in 2023 and showed major potential on loan at Feyenoord.
Magpies fans were excited to see Minteh in Premier League action, but Newcastle cashed in by selling him to Brighton.
Minteh hit six goals and four assists in the Premier League last season and is now taking his game to another level this term.
The Gambian has already recorded one goal and two assists in six games this term, causing major problems with his pace, trickery and work rate.
TEAMtalk now report that Minteh’s early-season form has caught the attention of some top Premier League clubs.
Brighton are currently comfortable with Minteh’s contract, but understand that his form will attract significant interest.
No clubs have been mentioned yet, but Premier League rivals are keeping a close eye on Minteh’s brilliant displays.
Brighton tend to sell their star players for huge prices and will be looking for a hefty profit on the £33million they paid to sign Minteh from Newcastle.
Can Newcastle bring Yankuba Minteh back to St James’ Park?
Newcastle fans may hope that a buy-back clause was inserted into Minteh’s move to Brighton.
However, reports earlier this year claimed that Newcastle have no buy-back clause on Minteh or the aforementioned Anderson.
Newcastle needed to sell in order to avoid PSR sanctions and were not in a position to demand such clauses.
Newcastle will already feel frustrated to have lost Minteh, but seeing him make a big move to a Premier League rival would really rub salt into the wound.
