Newcastle United could still make one big signing this month if they sell Miguel Almiron who has attracted some interest this week.
The talk around Newcastle in January is that they don’t have any money to work with to bring in new players and that they need to sell someone for a decent fee to bring in some fresh legs.
According to a report from The Athletic, Newcastle could target one of Benjamin Sesko, Amadou Onana or Morgan Gibbs-White if Almiron makes a move to the Saudi Pro League this month.
Newcastle target three star signings
Newcastle are wanting to improve in a number of positions either this month or in the summer including a new midfielder, a new striker and a new right-winger.
Sesko, a player with huge potential who has fallen out of favour at RB Leipzig, would be ideal because of his experience at such a young age as well as a £42m release clause which will become active in the summer.
IN terms of improving the midfield, Onana has proven to be one of Everton’s top players and with the Toffees struggling financially they may be forced to move on some of their best assets meaning the 23-year-old may become available.
Selling Almiron would leave Newcastle very short down the right, so signing Gibbs-White would make the most sense as he can replace the Paraguayan winger and comes as a ready-made Premier League-proven player with some untapped potential.

Newcastle still considering selling Almiron
While externally they may claim that nobody is for sale this month, it’s believed that a fee of around £30m would be enough to let go of the Paraguayan who is wanted by both Al Shabab and Al Ahli.
The problem they face is that it looks like the 29-year-old and his young family are settled in Newcastle, so even if an offer does get accepted the player himself is unlikely to want to relocate, especially as he has such a prominent role in the first team.
For Eddie Howe this will be great news as he can keep one of his key players who knows and understands his system and willing to run himself into the ground for the head coach.
For supporters though, it may come as a slight disappointment if Newcastle are unable to bring in any new faces this month.
