Sky Sports pundit Tim Sherwood has suggested Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a potential signing for Newcastle.
Aubameyang was left out of Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Southampton and Mikel Arteta explained that absence here.
Sherwood said he was thinking that Aubameyang would be a good signing for Eddie Howe a couple of weeks ago, but seemed to be talking himself out of it.

“A couple of weeks ago, I was thinking he’s perfect for Newcastle,” said Sherwood of Aubameyang. “Get him alongside Wilson, pace off the shoulder.
“But would Eddie take him? Does he want a troublemaker? Mikel Arteta is under huge pressure and what he can’t have is players throwing their toys out the pram.
“A lot of managers turn a blind eye if he’s an absolute superstar but he’s not at the moment.”

Aubameyang does not seem like a realistic January signing for Newcastle.
Their firepower is decent right now and Aubameyang cost Arsenal a reported £56 million and earns up to £350,000-a-week according to the Times.
That is not the kind of money Newcastle will spend at this moment in time and Aubameyang is not going to want to join a relegation fight either.
