Newcastle United could still make a bid for Brighton and Hove Albion winger Leandro Trossard this month.
That’s according to 90min. They report that if the Magpies believe the Belgium international is attainable during the January window, then they could very well make an offer.
The Seagulls have taken up the option to extend the 28-year-old’s contract by a further year. Now, Trossard’s deal at the Amex runs until the summer of 2024.

It is believed that alongside Newcastle, Chelsea are also interested in the player.
Toon sporting director Dan Ashworth is keen on a reunion with the likes of Trossard, Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo, all players he brought to Brighton during his tenure at the club.
Whilst the Belgian attacker is the most likely to join, the south-coast outfit are showing few signs that they’re willing to sell.
Newcastle could bid for Trossard
The Brighton star has certainly impressed at club-level this season. In 16 Premier League games, he has managed to bag seven goals and three assists.
After such an impressive start to the campaign, former Magpie Jose Enrique has claimed Trossard would be an ‘incredible’ signing for Newcastle, as he’s an ‘amazing’ player.
Having played with the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard out at the World Cup with Belgium last month, the 28-year-old has certainly put himself in a strong position going into the winter transfer window.

According to a previous report by journalist Graeme Bailey, it would take a £25m offer for Brighton to sanction a move for the attacker.
Having been linked with the likes of Leicester City’s James Maddison for over £50m, Trossard could be a more sensible addition to bring in.
Therefore, it is possible that we see Ashworth make a bid to bring the Belgian to St James’ Park this month.
