Newcastle are among the clubs looking to sign Marc Guehi from Chelsea, as per the Athletic.
They report that the Blues have recently triggered a one-year extension in the young defender’s Stamford Bridge contract.
But it remains to be seen whether Guehi is part of Thomas Tuchel’s long term plans with the Champions League finalists.
That has raised the prospect that he could leave in the summer, either on loan or permanently.

He is currently on loan at Swansea, and will be hoping to help them into the Premier League via the play-offs.
The report claims that Newcastle are not among the favourites to sign Guehi as it stands.
West Ham, Crystal Palace and Southampton are named as the other Premier League sides with an interest.
Borussia Monchengladbach are also apparently keen on Guehi, but he would cost between £15 and £20 million to buy this summer.

The report claims Swansea would also jump at the chance to take him back, having had him on loan since January last year.
Guehi was part of the England Under 21 squad which failed to get out of the group stages earlier this year, and has a bright future.
The report claims that Chelsea would consider inserting a buy-back clause into any deal to sell Guehi, which is something for Newcastle to consider.
That said, they did that with Nathan Ake’s move to Bournemouth but then didn’t take up the option this summer before he moved to Manchester City.
