It sounds like it’s going to be very difficult for Newcastle to complete a permanent transfer for Joe Willock.
When the midfielder arrived on loan from Arsenal, fans didn’t really know what to expect.
Willock had struggled to get a game at the Emirates, and never really set the world alight in the Premier League on the rare occasion he got a chance.
However, he quickly put any doubts to bed. Willock scored on his debut, playing wonderfully in a vital 3-2 win over Southampton.

That was only the beginning though. In his final seven games for the club, he scored in every game.
He scored huge goals too, with last gasp equalisers against Tottenham and Liverpool, as well as a winner versus West Ham.
Willock’s form was incredible. Some Toon fans were even shocked to see him miss out on England’s provisional squad for the Euros.
Willock quickly proved to be a vital player for the Magpies. Therefore, it’s no surprise that Steve Bruce wants to sign him permanently.
The fee being reported is £20million, which is the first stumbling block.
Money is set to be tight at St James’ Park, and Bruce reportedly wants to sign multiple players.
According to the Athletic, Bruce wants at least four new players this summer.
Of course, one of those is Willock.

Is Willock interested in Newcastle transfer?
According to the Daily Mail, the 21-year-old is unsure about a permanent move to St James’ Park.
While that is disappointing, it’s hardly a surprise.
Willock has had a wonderful time at Newcastle, but he is still an Arsenal player. That’s where he’s been for his whole career.
And, if anything, his time in the north east has only made him more valuable down south.
His performances in black and white have given him a great chance of featuring more for Arsenal.

But while he might be unsure now, that’s not to say things won’t change later in the summer.
Mikel Arteta will surely want to cast his eye over the midfielder during pre-season.
If anything, Willock was too good during his loan spell.
They say you should never fall in love with a loan player. And it looks like Willock could be another temporary star breaking Toon hearts.
