Bayern Munich have made a move to sign Borussia Monchengladbach striker and Newcastle United target Marcus Thuram, according to Sport Mediaset.
The Italian outlet claim the Bundesliga giants have offered the France international a lucrative five-year deal.
The Magpies are still touted with interest, as the Tyneside club are named alongside Atletico Madrid and Aston Villa as parties keen to land the 25-year-old.
With Thuram out of contract at the end of the season, clubs are queueing up to either secure the player on a free transfer in the summer, or to make a cut-price deal in January.
According to journalist Dean Jones on GiveMeSport, the Toon have been offered the chance to sign the attacker for a cheap price in the upcoming window.
