Real Madrid development emerges in major boost for Newcastle United over Sandro Tonali

Rather frustratingly, Sandro Tonali keeps being linked with a move away from Newcastle United.  

While Newcastle United fans had to wait to see the very best of him, Tonali has proven a revelation this season since returning from a ten-month ban from football due to the breaching of betting rules. 

Indeed, quite why the club would let him leave is unclear. They waited a long time to see the very best of him and now look a completely different team thanks to the Italian’s excellence in the deeper midfield role.

Newcastle want to keep Tonali and the 24-year-old has given absolutely no outward indication he’s looking to leave. 

Still, Juventus are interested in Tonali and a move to Real Madrid has been touted as a possibility.  

The latest news coming out of the Spanish capital, however, is a positive for Newcastle.

Real Madrid transfer development is good news for Newcastle United  

According to Caught Offside, Los Blancos are just one of the teams interested in a move for the former AC Milan midfielder. 

However, reports from The Guardian suggest the money may not be there for Madrid this summer. 

They claim the Spanish giants are unsure as to what level of funds they will have to play with, having strayed from their policy of paying huge fees to get players out of clubs of late.

Recently, they have focused on signing big names for free, such as Antonio Rudiger, Kylian Mbappe and potentially Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Newcastle United struck gold on Sandro Tonali

Such was his standing in the game before his arrival at the club in the summer of 2023, Newcastle were shocked Milan sold Tonali in the first place.  

With that in mind, letting him go so soon after he actually started making an impact would be a foolish decision.

Admiring glances from elsewhere are perhaps natural when a player is performing so well but Newcastle are not prepared to be strong-armed into selling one of their prized assets.

Madrid may not be alone in potentially struggling to afford Tonali. He’s simply too important to Newcastle to let go without a gargantuan offer emerging.
