As long as there’s water in the sea Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes is going to be the subject of a transfer story and now it is being reported that Paris Saint-Germain are the latest club to be looking at the Brazilian.

A report from IG Esporte in Brazil now claims that PSG are gearing up for a move for Bruno Guimaraes.

PSG are looking for midfield reinforcements and the PSG board are keen on Newcastle‘s ‘magnificent‘ midfielder but will definitely have their work cut out for them if they try to prise the 25-year-old away from St James’ Park.

PSG regret not trying to pick up Bruno from Lyon before Newcastle

Bruno arrived at Newcastle in January 2022 for £40million and became a Toon hero overnight with his displays for Eddie Howe‘s team as the former Bournemouth boss guided the Magpies to safety when relegation looked a certainty.

Guimaraes, brought in as a defensive midfielder, found himself among the goals regularly for Newcastle last season and he’s credited as being the key figure in Newcastle’s turnaround in fortunes last season.

This term he’s continued to make headlines for all the right reasons on the pitch, and off the pitch he has declared his love for Newcastle many times. The club, the city, the fans – Bruno Guimaraes is an adopted Geordie and is unlikely to be going anywhere anytime soon.

Bruno is a Geordie

PSG might try their luck in the summer but they’ll more than likely be rebuffed much like Real Madrid were earlier this season. The Paris side now regret not acting sooner and beating Newcastle to the move last year, and that’s a regret they’re just going to have to live with.

A report came out in The Telegraph yesterday claiming that Newcastle were looking to bring in four elite players in the summer, and the article ended by emphasising that no key players will be sold, specifically naming Bruno Guimaraes among them.

Bruno is a Geordie. We love him, he loves us. He’s one of, if not the most important player we have and any signings we make in the Summer will have Bruno in mind in terms of how they’ll play together.
