There has been a lot of change at Newcastle United already this summer.

Not only have Newcastle signed three players in the form of Lloyd Kelly, Odysseas Vlachodimos and John Ruddy, players have left St James’ Park.

Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson were sold to Brighton and Nottingham Forest respectively, while Paul Mitchell has replaced Dan Ashworth as the club’s new sporting director.

James Bunce has arrived as the new performance director, while Amanda Staveley and husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi have left the club.

It’s all made for quite a dramatic few weeks on Tyneside and the departures may not be stopping.

Martin Dubravka, hailed as “wonderful” by Alan Shearer for his performance in the FA Cup against Blackburn last season, could well have played his last game for the club.

Southampton target move for Martin Dubravka

The goalkeeper has reportedly been told he can leave the club this summer, with Newcastle seemingly keen to sell two goalkeepers.

Vlachodimos and Ruddy have joined Dubravka, Nick Pope and Mark Gillespie in Eddie Howe’s squad, making it five ‘keepers on the books.

According to Slovakian outlet Sport, Southampton are one of the teams interested in a move for Dubravka following their promotion to the Premier League, with the 35-year-old said to have higher ambitions than simply warming Newcastle’s bench.

Newcastle still want to sign another goalkeeper

Dubravka leaving would mean Newcastle have four goalkeepers in the squad, which was the same as they had last year.

Still, the incomings between the sticks may not be limited to only Vlachodimos and Ruddy.

Earlier this month, it was claimed that Newcastle were ready to increase their bid to sign Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford, who the Clarets are said to value at around £30m.

The player himself is said to be keen too, so perhaps that should be one to watch over the coming weeks.
