A club with the same ownership as Newcastle United are now looking to sign one of their key players this month.

It’s already been reported that there is interest coming from Saudi Arabia for Miguel Almiron who could be moved on to raise funds for new signings.

Now, according to NewcastleWorld, PIF-owned Al Ahli are also looking to bring in the Paraguayan alongside Al Shabab who have already seen an opening bid rejected.

Newcastle want significant fee for Almiron

The ‘unbelievable’ 29-year-old has been so crucial to the way Newcastle play in the Premier League that Eddie Howe is so keen not to lose him this month with still lots to play for in the second half of the season.

Despite being so important for Howe, every player has a priced and it’s believed that Newcastle are asking for a fee of around £30m for them to even consider selling Almiron.

With Al Ahli having a shared ownership with Newcastle it starts to become a little bit tricky with other clubs unhappy with the way Newcastle could potentially conduct their business.

Having said that, a number of other big clubs have already been able to offload some of their deadwood for largely inflated prices to Saudi Pro League teams, so it only seems fair that Newcastle can do something similar.

Newcastle face new obstacle in potential sale

Within the same report, it mentions how Atlanta United, the team Newcastle signed Almiron from five years ago, hold a 20-25% sell on clause which was actually negotiated by Darren Eales.

This means that Newcastle are likely to ask for more money than they actually value him at as they don’t want to risk losing out on a quarter of his transfer fee.

Newcastle are desperate for every penny they can get their hands on from transfers so this news is far from ideal in their pursuit of a new midfielder.

Whether this causes any problems when it comes to negotiating with one these Saudi Arabian teams remains to be seen, but not selling the Paraguayan international would still have its benefits this season.
