Newcastle United are absolutely flying on the pitch right now.

Up into fifth in the Premier League table, Newcastle could yet bring Champions League football back to St James’ Park next season.

Eddie Howe’s side made light work of a good team in Aston Villa on Boxing Day, running out 3-0 winners to continue their fine run of form.

Still, attention will soon turn to what happens off the pitch.

Indeed, the January transfer window is looming large and it will be fascinating to see what the club are able to do, having endured a rather slow time of things on the recruitment front of late.

Another quiet month has been predicted as things stand, albeit player sales could reportedly boost the funds available to the Newcastle United manager.

One of those who has been tipped to leave is Miguel Almiron, albeit one move is now off the cards completely.

Miguel Almiron transfer interested ended by potential buying club

According to GIVEMESPORT, Saudi Arabian side Al-Shabab have ended their interest in the forward.

They tried to sign Almiron last January too but were rejected then and have reportedly decided its time to move on as the Paraguay star just isn’t interested in the move.

Miguel Almiron is not happy at Newcastle United

Previously a key player under Howe, the 30-year-old has quickly dropped down the pecking order this season. Jacob Murphy has been preferred there of late, while Anthony Gordon and Joelinton have been tried out of position on the right wing ahead of playing Almiron.

In fact, he’s started just once in the Premier League all season.

It is perhaps unsurprising, then, that Almiron’s agent last month confirmed his client was unhappy with his lack of minutes.

Sadly for Almiron, the situation does not look like changing any time soon.
