Former Newcastle United transfer target Nicolas Jackson could be back on the market next summer – despite paying to join Bayern Munich.
Geordie Boot Boys were told that Newcastle United were interested in Jackson as they looked to replace Alexander Isak.
The Senegal striker was a target at St James’ Park, although Newcastle did have reservations about signing Jackson.
Ultimately, Newcastle ended up moving for Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa.
Jackson, meanwhile, joined Bayern on loan after the German giants had missed out on Woltemade.
The Chelsea forward, however, may not be there long.

Nicolas Jackson could leave Bayern Munich next summer
Jackson arrived at Bayern on loan, although it was thought that the deal contained an obligation to buy.
However, Bayern’s honorary president Uli Hoeneß has now revealed that he doesn’t think Jackson will play enough games to trigger the obligation clause.
The forward reportedly needs to start 40 games this season, which will be difficult given Harry Kane is their first-choice striker.
Hoeneß also claimed Jackson and his agent paid around £2.6million to facilitate the deal, such was his desire to get it over the line.
“It’s not a €16.5m loan fee, because the player and his agent are contributing €3m, so that leaves €13.5m,” he told Sport 1.
“And there will definitely not be a permanent contract. That only happens if he plays 40 games from the start. He will never do that.”
Nicolas Jackson was open to joining Newcastle United
Prior to joining the German champions, Jackson was open to signing for Newcastle United.
Chelsea’s moves for Newcastle transfer targets Liam Delap and Joao Pedro meant the 24-year-old was going to struggle for minutes.
Still, Newcastle eventually moved for Woltemade as their big-ticket replacement for Alexander Isak. The German international has been joined by Wissa, who offers immediate Premier League experience.
Sadly for Jackson, it seems like he may be on the lookout for a new club again next summer.
Newcastle, meanwhile, have their strikers for now. It’s not a position they need to look at next summer, barring a disaster with Wissa and Woltemade.
