Watching promising young players struggle while on loan has been a major frustration for Newcastle fans, with the club’s policy on that front questioned at times.
Thankfully for Cordero, it seems his loan nightmare is coming to an end.
Fabrizio Romano confirms Antonio Cordero is set to join Cadiz
That’s because, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Cordero is set to return to Spain.
On social media platform X, Romano revealed that Newcastle United sources have told him that Spanish side Cadiz have agreed a loan deal for the second half of the season.
They compete in the Spanish second division, where Cordero was playing last season.
It means the 19-year-old could be set to face his former club this season, with Malaga set to visit Cadiz in March.

It certainly didn’t look like an obvious move at the time and to say it hasn’t worked out would be a major understatement.
Indeed, Toon fans saw this coming. It would be fascinating to know the thought process behind the scenes on this one.
Hopefully, Cordero can kick on now. He’s seemingly set to return to a familiar setting and that should restore some confidence in his ability.
