Newcastle United fans have been rocked by the news that Alexander Isak is looking to leave the club this summer, though updates from Fabrizio Romano on Benjamin Sesko are at least reasonably promising.
Indeed, Isak wants to leave Newcastle this summer, although an exit is not guaranteed to happen.
Newcastle insist Isak isn’t for sale but, sadly, the time has come to look at potential replacements.
Sesko has been linked with Newcastle, while Eddie Howe is also trying to sign Yoane Wissa this summer.
In an ideal world, one of those two would arrive while Newcastle keep Isak for another season at least.
That, however, looks reasonably unlikely. With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest Newcastle United transfer news and rumours.

Fabrizio Romano confirms Benjamin Sesko latest
Not long after the Isak news broke, Romano took to social media platform X.
He revealed that Newcastle are “attentive” to Sesko’s situation at RB Leipzig.
Sesko scored 21 goals in 45 games for the German side last season and Romano has claimed that Newcastle have now been informed about the costs involved in the deal.
He adds that Newcastle are working on multiple deals, including the one to try and take Wissa from Brentford.
Chelsea and Manchester United respond to Alexander Isak bombshell
It seems Liverpool may have something of a clear run in trying to sign Isak this summer.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs on social media platform X, neither Chelsea nor Manchester United and interested in Isak. The Red Devils have decided he is simply too expensive for them.
With Arsenal seemingly set to sign Viktor Gyokeres instead of Isak, the path looks open for Liverpool in terms of Premier League interest.
Al Hilal have also been linked, although a move to Saudi Arabia has been played down in recent reports.
Yoane Wissa progress imminent
In better news for Newcastle, they are expected to wrap up a deal to sign Brentford forward Wissa over the coming days.
The DR Congo international scored 19 Premier League goals last season and would be a fine addition to the Newcastle United squad. Still, if Isak leaves, Wissa alone will not be enough to cover for it.
According to journalist Craig Hope of The Daily Mail on social media platform X, progress on that deal is expected over the course of the weekend.
