Newcastle United are just one of the clubs said to be interested in Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.
Eze has been in fine form for Crystal Palace for a while now, prompting Newcastle United to take a look.
Indeed, the England international has dazzled at Selhurst Park once again this season. The 26-year-old has scored 10 goals while registering 11 assists in 31 Premier League appearances, while helping lead Oliver Glasner’s side into the FA Cup final.
Palace could choose to sell Eze this summer in order to fund a rebuild at Selhurst Park and more insight emerged over the weekend.

Newcastle United handed Eberechi Eze transfer hope
Newcastle considered signing Eze in 2023 but eventually went for Sandro Tonali instead. While it took a while to see, it’d be fair to say that has worked out since. Palace have feared Newcastle could make a move for Eze since too.
Still, that’s not to say the Palace star wouldn’t be a good signing. Eddie Howe likes players with versatility and the former QPR youngster certainly provides that, given he’s able to operate both in central midfield and out on the wing.

According to Miguel Delaney of The Independent, Barcelona’s exit from the Champions League could see something of a domino effect take place.
He writes in his Reading the Game newsletter that Barca could be forced to sell one of either Pedri or Gavi. It’s said that “executives” at some rivals are sensing a real opportunity and that could see a chain reaction take place where Eze leaves Palace when the market opens up a bit.
Delaney also adds that the only thing putting clubs off a move for Eze is his age (26).
Newcastle United will try and sign one Crystal Palace star this summer
Whether or not the club will go big on Eze remains to be seen.
However, it seems as if they will attempt at least one raid on Palace. Newcastle are still interested in signing Marc Guehi, having failed to land him last summer.
Signing both would represent a brilliant summer at St James’ Park but it does feel unlikely. The England forward would be an excellent addition to the Newcastle United squad but the area in which he plays surely isn’t going to be deemed a priority.
Either way, however, it seems Barca’s Champions League exit could see Eze follow Guehi through the exit door at Palace.
