Newcastle United are not signing Tosin Adarabioyo this summer, but they could target another Fulham player.

The 26-year-old is leaving Craven Cottage very soon, with his Fulham contract set to expire. Tosin did have an offer from Newcastle, but he has opted to take his talents to Chelsea.

It is a blow for Newcastle, who have missed out on a PSR-busting transfer to Chelsea, who are offering the centre-back a longer contract and the chance to play in Europe.

As for the Magpies, they will have to take their business elsewhere, and that has resulted in them being linked with another Fulham player.

Newcastle United linked with Andreas Pereira

That is according to Brazilian outlet Globo, who claim that the 28-year-old is unlikely to be at Craven Cottage next season.

They claim that three Premier League clubs have expressed their interest in Pereira, one of which is Newcastle United. The other two are Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur, with the former preparing for Champions League football next season.

That is what Pereira wants too, with a move away now on the cards. He will not be cheap though, with Globo claiming that Fulham want between £30million and £35million.

Pereira to Newcastle feels unlikely right now

Those figures make a move to Newcastle United unlikely, mainly due to the fact that Pereira plays in a position that the Magpies are not looking to strengthen in right now.

The Brazil international is a centre-midfielder, or he operates as an attacking midfielder behind the striker. As it stands, Newcastle are well stocked in the middle of the park, especially with Sandro Tonali due to return from suspension in August.

The only reason a move for a player like Pereira would make sense is if Newcastle lose a midfielder, and the most likely candidate to depart is Bruno Guimaraes.

Pereira is currently with Newcastle United’s talisman

The 26-year-old is a man in demand, with Manchester City sniffing around his £100million release clause. While the Magpies are confident about keeping Bruno, they are powerless if someone activates his release clause.

Interestingly, Bruno is actually currently with the latest player to be linked with a move to St James’ Park. Bruno and Pereira are away on international duty together, as Brazil prepare to compete at the Copa America.

They have even been enjoying some downtime together, with Bruno and Pereira pictured together at Universal Studios in Florida. I wonder if Bruno was telling him how many Greggs there are in Newcastle…
