Newcastle may be able to land Youri Tielemans for £25 million this summer (Telegraph).

The Belgian maestro is available for a cut-price fee because his contract expires in the summer of 2023 at Leicester City.

Tielemans has shown no willingness to agree fresh terms, and so the Foxes are ready to cut their losses before his value plummets further.

£25 million is around half what the club were demanding for him last year.

It is a development which could be of interest to Newcastle.

The Magpies were reported in February to be keen on a potential deal for the 24-year-old.

There will undoubtedly be a fair amount of interest in him though when the summer window opens.

Tielemans is currently not enjoying his best season. But he has largely been quite consistent since first coming to the Premier League in January 2019.

The star has had some fantastic moments. His best came in last season’s FA Cup final when he got the winner against Chelsea.

Tielemans has proven to be a great player, and so he will surely not be short of offers.

£25 million is quite a reasonable price for a player of his quality with one year left on his contract.

Newcastle will likely face big competition from Manchester United. The Red Devils are said to be keen, and their current midfield options leave a lot to be desired.

Newcastle wouldn’t go wrong with £25 million Tielemans transfer

Tielemans has had his critics this season.

But it’s possible thoughts about his future have been affecting him.

It looks as though he will be on the move this summer, and Newcastle probably ought to get involved.

The Magpies were on the receiving end of his quality back in December when he scored twice in the 4-0 result at the King Power Stadium.

£25 million for a proven Premier League performer, with really high potential, would be great business.
